Revolutionizing Human Security With Ethical Brain Hacking
Can a change in formulations improve security? In an overly technologically-dependent world, it’s easy for ‘normal folks’ to feel left behind. And yet, it’s most often those exact people that are being targeted by malicious attackers- for example, in phishing, social engineering or tailgating. In such a context, security awareness and training are a fundamental cornerstone of any organization’s protection. Alas… we see that most security awareness efforts fail at making people act more securely. This session will explore why that is, and what we could do differently, using aspects of behavioral science – aka, “ethically hacking the human brain”. Whether you are a CISO, a security awareness expert, or just someone interested in how you can more effectively influence people by changing the way you formulate things, join this session at the intersection of cybersecurity and human psychology.
Anastasiya leads the Security Awareness Services at EY Belgium, where she works towards strengthening her clients’ human security. Her team’s approach integrates various disciplines, including gamification and behavioral science, to optimize secure behavior adoption. As an active member of the Belgian Cyber Security Coalition, Anastasiya leads and participates in multiple security awareness workgroups such as gamification, phishing or human risk metrics. In her free time, she enjoys baking, ornithology, and watching mind-blowing movies.
