Cybersec Europe 2025: Over 7,000 Visitors, 14% Growth, and Full Houses in the Heart of Brussels

Cybersec Europe was held for the fourth time on May 21 and 22, 2025. With more than 7,000 visitors and a 14% increase compared to 2024, the event confirmed its position as the premier meeting place for end users, CISOs, entrepreneurs, and IT professionals working towards a secure digital future.

Official Opening with Political Support

The official opening was conducted by Matthias Diependaele, Minister-President of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Economy, Innovation and Industry, Foreign Affairs, Digitalization, and Facilities Management.

Big Names on Stage

The content program attracted full auditoriums with leading speakers from both home and abroad. Two headline keynotes were:

  • Max Schrems, internationally renowned privacy activist and founder of NOYB (None of Your Business), who shared his vision on digital rights and GDPR enforcement.

  • Mario Beccia, Team Leader for Cybersecurity at the European Commission, who addressed European policy and the impact of the NIS2 directive.

With dozens of lectures, panels, and breakout sessions, the program offered depth for CISOs, IT managers, policymakers, and technical experts.

Revamped Program with Tech in the Spotlight

A notable innovation this year was the increased focus on technical roles such as ethical hackers, developers, and engineers. The new Tech Theater provided two days of technical deep dives, live demos, and expert talks.

Another highlight was the introduction of the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition. In this interactive challenge, teams worked to locate digital “flags” by identifying system vulnerabilities. It emphasized technical creativity, speed, and collaboration — a core element of the global cybersecurity community.

Packed Exhibition Floor with International Appeal

With a diverse mix of exhibitors – from established names to startups – the show floor provided ample space for networking, inspiration, and demonstrations. Key themes included AI, data privacy, resilience, threat intelligence, and European legislation.

The international appeal of the event continues to grow. In addition to Belgian and Dutch attendees, visitors came from countries including France, Germany, Luxembourg, and the United Kingdom.

Looking Ahead: Cybersec Europe 2026

Cybersec Europe is growing — in content, reach, and impact. The next edition will take place on May 20 and 21, 2026. The organization is working on an even stronger program, with continued focus on technical depth, current topics, and European collaboration.
