Martine Tempels Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at Cybersec Europe
Martine Tempels, former Executive Vice President at Telenet Business and founder of CoderDojo Belgium, will receive the prestigious IT Lifetime Achievement Award on May 22 during Cybersec Europe at Brussels Expo. This award honors her career in the IT and telecom sector and her work with CoderDojo.
Until recently, Martine Tempels worked at Telenet, where she was part of the senior leadership team as Vice President. However, her impact on the Belgian tech sector extends far beyond her role at Telenet.
As founder and chairwoman of CoderDojo Belgium, she spent years helping Belgian youth gain digital skills. The organization, which teaches children and young people to code, work with robots, and 3D print, has become a key platform for digital education under her leadership. Through regular sessions led by volunteers, essential digital skills are imparted to the next generation.
New Challenges
Tempels recently decided to pass on the chairmanship of CoderDojo Belgium to Karin Van Hoecke. The IT Lifetime Achievement Award is therefore a recognition of Tempels’ long-standing dedication to digital innovation and her role as a trailblazer for women in tech. Last year, the award went to a duo: Jef De Wit and Dirk Deroost, founders of De Cronos Group.
The Cybersec and Computable awards ceremony, including Martine Tempels’ recognition, takes place on Day 2 of Cybersec Europe, held on May 21 and 22 at Brussels Expo. The event once again gathers key players from the cybersecurity and IT world.
Martine Tempels will receive the award along with the other winners at 4:00 PM on the main stage of Cybersec Europe in Brussels Expo. Everyone can register for free to attend both the award ceremony and Cybersec Europe.
