Cybersec Europe on 20 and 21 May 2026: first speakers announced

On 20 and 21 May 2026, Cybersec Europe will once again take place at Brussels Expo. The first speakers and the program format have now been announced. With this announcement, the “save the date” invitation for Cybersec Europe is also being sent out. The Benelux’s largest cybersecurity event brings together thousands of professionals around the most important trends, technologies, and challenges in cybersecurity.

This year, visitors can not only count on an extensive main stage program—which attracts more visitors every year—but also on a renewed and updated edition of the Tech Theater for in-depth technical sessions. The Computable Awards and the Cybersec Europe Awards will also be featured again on the main stage this year, on day 2.

As every year, the speaker lineup is the heart of the Cybersec Europe program. The first three keynote announcements immediately reflect the wide range of themes that will be central in 2026: digital sovereignty, cyber warfare, threat analysis, supply chain security, resilience, and a sharp focus on the rapidly evolving cybersecurity legislation.

The lineup is deliberately European in composition, in line with the event’s international ambitions and the growing call for strategic independence in the digital domain—while keeping a practical perspective, with real-world case studies.

First speakers

The first confirmed speaker is Ken Munro (Pen Test Partners), one of Europe’s best-known ethical hackers. He will give a live demonstration of how easily IoT devices can be abused.

From smart kettles to talking dolls, Munro shows how small vulnerabilities become major risks once they provide access to an entire network. His session highlights the growing danger of poorly secured devices used by consumers and businesses.

In addition, David Martens, Head of Product Security at Barco, has also confirmed. He will address the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), likely the most far-reaching cyber legislation at the moment. The CRA imposes strict requirements on all companies that offer software or smart technology.

Martens will discuss not only the impact on Barco, but also the broader implications for European companies—from compliance to practical implementation and the current state of the regulation. His session will be an essential reality check for any organization that develops or implements digital products.

The third announced speaker is Henri van Soest, Senior Analyst at RAND Europe and professor at the RAND School of Public Policy. He focuses on the geopolitical dimension of cybersecurity and the challenge of protecting critical infrastructure. His presentation provides an up-to-date view of the digital frontline in Ukraine—and the lessons we can draw from it.

Connie McIntosh, head of security at Ericsson, will also take the stage. McIntosh oversees the company’s cybersecurity operations in more than 42 countries and is known for her strategic vision that fundamentally changes how organizations view digital risk management. McIntosh was recently awarded a Global Recognition Award in 2025 for her exceptional contributions to cybersecurity leadership.

More speakers for Cybersec Europe 2026 will be announced in the coming weeks and months, but the dates are set: 20 and 21 May 2026. Because the future of cybersecurity will once again take center stage for two days at Brussels Expo.
