Arnold Bijlsma (Jamf): “It provides attendees an opportunity to gain first-hand experience with advancements in security and management solutions”

Jamf is one of the 100+ exhibitors at Cybersec Europe on the 19th and 20th of April in Brussels. Arnold Bijlsma, Security Manager at Jamf, answers some questions about cybersecurity and invites you visit the European event.

What does Jamf do?

Jamf ensures enterprise-secure, consumer simple solutions that uphold the experience users have come to expect. Our best-of-breed, Apple-first solutions in management and security provide employers with the means of maintaining end-user privacy without compromising the security, privacy, usability, or performance of personally- or company-owned devices.

What is the biggest threat in cybersecurity for companies in 2023?

It is and continues to remain, phishing. Combining the relative ease and minimal resources required to set up, threat actors can mount social engineering campaigns leveraging social media, SMS, and traditional email platforms to great success. This is an especially concerning trend when victims hand out credentials and other sensitive data, easily skirting security protections in place to protect such business resources.

What trends do you spot in cybersecurity?

Alongside regular user training as the best defense against phishing attacks, organizations are increasing their due diligence practices, extending them to their partners and 3rd-party vendors to minimize supply chain-related risk. Also, the adoption of machine learning (ML) technology is helping IT and Security teams when performing threat hunting to detect and neutralize unknown threats that may be lurking undetected on devices and within networks.

Why are events like Cybersec Europe important?

Events like this are vital because it offers a unique place to share anecdotes and network with IT and Security professionals from different backgrounds about trends and new developments in the field. It also provides attendees an opportunity to gain first-hand experience with advancements in security and management solutions that help organizations to navigate users, data, and devices securely within the modern threat landscape.
